A flight of fancy...
There I was, sauntering along on my bike, looking out across the fields of early wheat beginning to offer an ear to the soothing glow of the winter sun.
A crow flew over head and then down into the field. Slowly and gently he landed with deft finesse in mid stride, folding his wings in behind him.
To him, he'd arrived after a simple journey, one of many. A multitude of effortless flights. Commonplace.
It was then that a thought occurred to me, I envy only one thing; the ability to fly.
What do you envy?

..courtesy.. although, the alternatives tend to weigh the same; by the pound.
Things have changed over at 'r-Enterprises', btw..
I envy something that is not found in nature... the capability of becoming invisible/undetectable!
Suppose you were allowed to keep your consciousness/intelligence. Which animal (other than human) would you rather be?
Now that's a naughty question.
Need to think about that one...
I just don't envy people, especially the likes of William H. Gates III.
Just think of all of the faces he's stepped / sat on to get where he is?
That's the journey you'd have to take to stand in his brogues wearing his home-made knitted sweaters...
I envy myself aged 10 - a world of possibility ahead of me....
..and what did I do? Wasted it! Damn I wish I knew then what I know now. I'd make a completely different set of new and exiting mistakes :-)

Ahh, we've covered that one in an earlier issue (go to: http://myblah-blah.blogspot.com/2005/02/i-hope-im-old-before-i-die.html)
Youth is an envious commodity. Fortunately, I have enough left to make good use of...
Me? I will be young forever!
I envy someone I know, who loves their job, is very good at it, and is paid very well. I don't expect to have any of these things.
Hi Deodand, and thanks for posting.
By the way, I am the very thing you envy .. with the exception of the money, but I'm working on that this year...
