Tooth extraction.
I can sympathise, I had one out 6 weeks ago, big one at the back, left a chasm in it's place that's like a larder for storing food until later. I had the whole blood thing for a bit but it settled after a few days. I can recommend very very salty water, as much salt as you can put in and as hot as you can take it. It'll hurt like buggery so if you can find yourself something or someone to punch it'll feel better! It does do the job tho, kills anything in sight, much as you'll be directly afterwards!
The tooth (or lack thereof) is settling down, now.
Now, rather than a curious metallic-tasting hole in my upper jaw, I have a gelatinous mass of tissue that oozes forth certain bitter-tasting secretions every now and then.
An improvement by any standard...
