Things that really .. really make my day: part III

The unconditional love you get from a dog.

No matter how your day has been. No matter what has happened, your dog will love you...

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

That makes me emotional every time I read it.

I have a 3 and half year old cocker spaniel and he is simply the greatest thing, ever.

One, two and three.

We've always had dogs and they've been some of the best friends I've had.

Each and every one of them a unique character with their own likes & dislikes.

Amazing creatures...

She's called Meg, and she is a very clever little dog.

Problem solving clever, which can be fun to watch...

She is a lioness in the body of a Friesian Jack Russell.

She will routinely attack or charge at any animal she sees fit to take offense to.

In times past, she's had a go at a dray horse grazing in a field near to where I live.

One of those truly surreal moments where Meg was all barks, growls and fur and the horse just nonchalantly stood there looking at me as if to say: "You've got to be fuckin' kidding me, right?"

Three pound of hellfire & furry...

Hey Tim, a mate of mine used to have a King Charles, called Charlie, originally enough.

He was one of those daft, lovable dogs.

In the end, my mate had to give him to his dad on account of wife having well-developed belly bump.

They weren't sure how Charlie would take to a baby soaking up all of the affection...

The missus' sister had a Cavalier King Charles spaniel - very cute. My monkey-boy (one of his many names) knows about 40 different words, about 35 of which relate to food.

He's fairly smart but not problem solving smart - Jack Russells always seem to be much cleverer than most other dogs. My parents had two males that fought each other and any passing dog/cat/giraffe on a daily basis.
