An image speaks a thousand words...

With summer closing in on us and the sun making a decent fist of things right now, I'm feeling in an unusual, conspicuously good mood.

So I decided to hunt down my collection of summer photographs from last year and share them with the world yet again.

The following photographs are from around where I live.

For all those stricken with Seasonally Affective Disorder, consider this therapy.

My invoice will be in the post, shortly...

Hmm, nice pics. So you're a photographer, too? Is there no end to your talents?

Can I use this as an opportunity for a shameless plug?

Opps, too late!

I really do like the insect and plant shots in your collection.

I tried for some of those last year, but with the wind and poor light, I never quite got there.

Most of the flower shots had to be taken in seclusion to make sure the wind didn't turn the shot into an exercise in motion blur...

Thanks! Listening to other people, those shots do seem to be the most popular - I'll be looking to take some more one the insects re-appear in my back garden.

I made a desktop wallpaper of the hover fly one and - according to various forums I've found on Google - it's being used on various computers around the world. Makes me feel so ... erm ... geekish!

OMG Wayne,

I am so jealous, I want to live in a place like that. Great pics.

I suddenly feel the need to go out to the forest preserve and just walk the trails.

Then do it!

Although, you might want to wrap up tight. I'm guessing you might be getting similar cold weather as to what we're having over here.

In a couple of months, the fields will be starting to burst into life and woodlands and hedgerows will be teeming with life.

I love walking, and if I remember to take my camera, there's nearly always something to photograph...
